Kevin Elwood, M.D.
Dr. Elwood, Research Investigator at Retina Research Center of Wisconsin, is excited to start at Retina & Vitreous Consultants of Wisconsin in the Summer of 2026 and serve the patients of southeast Wisconsin through surgical and medical retina care.
He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin graduating summa cum laude. He then received his medical degree at The University of Texas Dell Medical School as part of the inaugural class. Dr. Elwood graduated with a distinction in research through his studies of teleretinal screening of diabetic retinopathy.
He subsequently completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. His research in residency focused on advanced ophthalmic imaging in macular degeneration. Dr. Elwood is currently completing his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and Illinois Retina Associates in Chicago, IL. He has been involved in many clinical trials focusing on novel therapeutics in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal diseases.
Dr. Elwood enjoys spending time with his family outside of work and is an avid college football fan.
