While the specialty of retina has changed over the last 40 years, our commitment to excellent, ethical, and accessible patient care remains steadfast. We continue to provide an extensive breadth of surgical and medical treatment of retina and vitreous diseases while working closely with referring doctors who entrust us with your care.
With diverse training at some of the top retina programs across the country, our board-certified physicians have substantial experience in addressing both common and rare retinal conditions. Remaining up-to-date on recent advancements in the field, our doctors have one singular goal- to help patients maximize their full visual potential
Retina and Vitreous Consultants of Wisconsin continues to innovate and expand in 2024. The transition to a new Class A office suite in Greenfield demonstrates our long-term dedication and investment in the south side of Milwaukee, an integral area for our practice, in addition to maintaining our presence at 4 other office locations in Southeast Wisconsin.
With the hiring of Dr. Razek Coussa, we will be offering for the first time pediatric medical and surgical retinal care. We are developing Milwaukee’s only comprehensive Inherited Retinal Disease clinic focused on offering Wisconsin patients the latest technological advancements with regards to diagnosis, management, surgery and interventional research for rare and debilitating genetic diseases.
We earn our reputation through hard work and proven results, and it is not a coincidence that Retina and Vitreous Consultants of Wisconsin remains the busiest retina practice in Southeast Wisconsin and beyond with many patients traveling hundreds of miles across the state and from Illinois to see us.
Learn more why we continue to be the choice of doctors and patients for over 40 years.

Procedures We Perform
Vitreo-retinal surgery
We perform all of our surgery at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin. We regularly perform microincisional vitrectomy which is the platform on which nearly all retinal conditions are addressed surgically; the more common indications include retinal detachment, macular pucker/hole, vitreous hemorrhage, persistent floaters, retained lens after cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, infection, and ocular trauma. Depending on context, scleral buckling, cryotherapy, and pneumatic retinopexy are also occasionally employed in the management of retinal detachments and retinal tears.
Laser
Laser retinopexy is the bedrock of retinal tear management, while laser panretinal photocoagulation, grid of focal laser, micropulse laser, and photodynamic therapy with Visudyne are utilized most often for diabetic retinopathy, macular edema and central serous retinopathy.
Intravitreal injections
Intravitreal injections are the mainstay of treatment for wet age related macular degeneration, macular edema from a variety of causes, and several other conditions. We have access to all types of injections including Avastin, Eylea and Eylea HD, Vabysmo, Lucentis, Beovu, Ozurdex, Kenalog/Triesence, Yutiq, Syfovre, and Izervay.
Diagnostic Testing
All of our locations have on-site imaging capability including Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), wide angle fundus photography and Autofluorescence (FP/AF) and Fluorescein Angiography (FA), and B-scan ultrasonography
